In the UPSURGE project, the Competency Groups started working. See the first CG kick-off meeting in Budapest. Congratulations!

On 21 Sept. 2023, BP18 and BURST led the launch of the Upsurge project’s first local Competency Group meeting at Tomory Lajos Múzeum.

The Group aims to promote nature-based solutions in BP18 and Hungary, by evaluating and validating the impacts of NBSs implemented in BP18 including environmental, social and economic opportunities or the potential of supportive political capital, and to test new approaches, for example, UPSURGE digital services within a multistakeholder innovation platform.

The meeting generated a fruitful discussion on this wide-ranging topic, with valuable contributions from landscape architects, civil engineers and meteorologists, key economic actors in the district’s economic life, professionals from the civil society and communication experts.

The discussion within the interdisciplinary group will continue this year with more focus on the local NBS in BP18 where the first NBS, public rain gardens in the garden of Tomory Lajos Museum will be implemented in October.
